Former contestants of RuPaul’s Drag Race have launched Drag PAC, the first political action committee led by drag performers. The PAC aims to address mounting hate, violence, and legislation targeting LGBTQ individuals through voter registration and engagement for the 2024 election. Founding members, including Jinkx Monsoon, BenDeLaCreme, Peppermint and Monét X Change, highlighted the importance of the upcoming November election, calling it “the most important election cycle for queer people’s rights and freedoms in our lifetime.” The PAC plans to mobilize Gen Z voters and Drag Race fans by utilizing social media platforms and lighthearted videos.
