Stevie Nicks revealed that the health crisis that forced the 76-year-old singer to postpone two shows earlier this month was a lot more serious than she initially let on. Nicks postponed shows in Glasgow and Manchester, “Due to a recent leg injury requiring a minor surgical procedure that will need a few days of recovery time,” according to the initial cancellation. But during Nicks’ rescheduled show in Glasgow on July 24, the music legend shared that her illness required hospitalization.
“I just got this weird infection, and it just went crazy,” she revealed to the crowd, “I finally just looked at my assistant – it was like two in the morning – and I said, ‘I think we need to go to emergency.’” Nicks ultimately spent two days in the hospital, and is still feeling the effects of the infection. “I’ve been fighting this for this whole thing,” she said. “This whole tour I’ve been fighting what started here. And I would be damned if I wasn’t coming back here.” (Deadline)
