CIRT still accepting volunteers

If you are interested in a carrier in law enforcement or social work, and are looking for some volunteer experience, the Crisis Intervention Response Team is looking for volunteers. The Las Cruces Police Department’s Victim’s Assistance Unit is still accepting applications for volunteers interested in joining the Crisis Intervention Response Team. Volunteers would be working with police officers and detectives in offering assistance to victims. This is a unique opportunity for those interested in a career in law enforcement or social work. Volunteers serve on call and sometimes overnight hours on weekends and possible holidays. Applications are being accepted until 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26. Training will begin Oct. 4. For applications and more information on the Crisis Intervention Response Team, please call the Las Cruces Police Department’s Victim’s Assistance Unit at (575) 528-4111.
