The Airport Advisory Board for the Doña Ana County International Jetport at Santa Teresa seeks applicants for two seats that will expire in July, to serve on the seven-member body. Applications are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, June 5.
Board members work closely with the jetport manager, County engineer, planning director and a representative of the County Attorney’s Office to identify safety, growth, development or administration issues relevant to the airport.
Selected applicants will serve from July 2020 to July 2023. The Board serves a staggered three-year term, meets monthly and periodically reports to the Board of County Commissioners, recommends changes or informs about upcoming challenges and opportunities in the airport’s operations or administration.
All meetings of the Airport Advisory Board comply with the New Mexico Open Meetings Act, which means, among other things that the Board’s agendas for regular and special meetings are available to the public, at least seventy-two hours prior to each meeting and they are posted on the Doña Ana County website. The meetings are also open to the public.
Applicants may reside in Doña Ana County or El Paso and information requested includes an interest in serving and knowledge of aviation and airport issues, along with the applicant’s qualifications to serve. Licensed pilots are encouraged to apply.
