El Paso Border Sector Chief Says Immigrant Influx Is Overwhelming Agency Resources

The Border Patrol’s El Paso Sector Chief says the immigrant influx is creating a major strain on the agency’s resources.

In an interview with KVIA this week, Chief Aaron Hull says this year the agency is going through an unprecedented challenge due to the immigrant influx. He says compared to one-thousand dollars a day spent on supplies for immigrants last year, CBP is spending 40-thousand a day in the El Paso sector now. Hull also says besides more facilities and supplies, more agents are also needed to handle the marked increase in the number of asylum seekers coming up from Central America.
