Elephant Butte Lake could reach 30 percent capacity

A welcome surge of melting snow in Colorado is bringing more water to the Rio Grande and with-it increasing water levels across the State. Elephant Butte Lake Reservoir had dropped as low as 10% of capacity last year, but it could reach 30% this year according to some water experts. In the Albuquerque area, Bernalillo County Deputies are responding to more calls near the Rio Grande River for emergency purposes due to the rising water levels.
