First COVID-19 Related Death Reported in El Paso

The City of El Paso reported the first local death from COVID-19 yesterday. Health officials say the victim was a man in his eighties who had preexisting medical conditions. The Department of Public Health also announced 33 new cases of the virus, bringing the total number in El Paso up to 225. Mayor Dee Margo is urging residents to wear a cloth face cover while out in public and practice social distancing.
