Las Cruces City Council Doubles Down on Raising Minimum Wage

The Las Cruces city council is reconfirming an increase in the minimum wage.

In a meeting yesterday, council members listened as more than a dozen small business owners stated their opposition saying they have to pass the salary hike on to the consumer. Some business owners say they may have to move to El Paso because of the wage increase. Council members opted in favor of the increase anyway saying in this case it is a cost of living increase which will send the minimum wage up to ten-25-an hour starting in January.
