New Mexico Plans to Provide Students with Laptops for Fall

The state of New Mexico plans to make sure every student in the state has access to the internet this fall and has a device to help them connect. State Public Education Department Cabinet Secretary Ryan Stewart told the Albuquerque Journal the state’s goal is that every student has access to the internet for their classes and also has a Chromebook for their studies. A state court ruling in an education lawsuit two months ago ordered New Mexico to identify at-risk students who lack internet access and provide them and their teachers with those resources.
