New Mexico Public Safety Secretary Dismissed

The New Mexico Public Safety Secretary was recently dismissed from his post. Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham announced on Friday that Secretary Mark Shea was removed from the position, but did not give a specific reason for the dismissal. Shea was appointed by the governor last year, and previously worked in the Albuquerque Public Schools Police Department and the Valencia County Sheriff’s Office. State Police Chief Tim Johnson will lead the department as interim secretary.
